Why Did Male Rock Stars Dress Like Women
Men wearing women's clothing is often looked down upon. Many people believe that it is simply inappropriate for men to display any signs of femininity. However, in recent years, several celebrities have taken it upon themselves to show the world that style is style, and although putting labels in clothing is necessary, putting labels on people isn't. Although many of these stars have gotten a lot of backlash for their choice to wear women's clothing, they don't seem to mind one bit – and even in the face of all the hate, they continue to be some of the best dressed people in the business. Here are 10 male celebrities caught rocking female clothing.
Marc Jacobs
World famous fashion designer, Marc Jacobs, knows all about looking good. Even with his own designs he isn't afraid to take risks, so it really shouldn't come as a surprise that he's taken a few risks with his personal style. Jacobs has made several red carpet appearances wearing pieces of women's clothing, mostly cute skirts and trendy boats.

David Beckham
Former professional soccer star turned model, David Beckham, made headlines several years ago when he was photographed wearing a sarong while out on a date with his wife. Beckham has since spoken out on the incident stating: "'Sarongs are great. That's one thing I never regret because I thought it looked great and I would still wear it now."

CeeLo Green
Musician CeeLo Green has had a successful career as a member of the Goodie Mob, Gnarls Barkley, and as a solo artist. Aside from his music he has also become pretty well-known for his very eccentric style. During a photo shoot for Gnarls Barkley in 2008, Green wore a wedding dress while fellow member, Danger Mouse, donned a tuxedo. In 2013, Green turned heads again when he appeared on the red carpet wearing a leather dress and 'flirting' with Maroon 5 frontman, Adam Levine.

James Franco
James Franco is one of the hottest men in Hollywood, and he's almost one of the most comfortable with his sexuality. In 2010, Franco dressed in full female attire for a photo shoot in Candy Magazine. The magazine describes itself as: "the first fashion magazine ever completely dedicated to celebrating transvestism, transexuality, cross dressing and androgyny, in all its manifestations…CANDY is a magazine for everybody. A space for individual freedom, and a publication that pushes people to take on the persona of what they always wanted to be." Although some were critical of Franco's choice to wear women's clothing, he stood by his decision with pride.
A$AP Rocky
A$AP Rocky rose to fame in 2011 with his popular single, "Peso." Since then, his fashion sense has also made its way to the forefront. In 2012, he got a lot of attention after appearing on BET's 106th and Park in what appeared to be a dress. According to A$AP Rocky: "That ain't no…dress man, that's an oversized shirt. They kind of use high end fabrics and that's why it's fancy. It's not like the 6x tees we used to wear a lot when we were younger. IF you are into high fashion, it is very common. I've got a few of them that was the girl version that they put next to my picture, it was a tank top. Mines is a long sleeved over sized shirt, with the matching pants." However, despite his statement, the jury AKA the public, has decided that he was definitely wearing some sort of dress/skirt.

Vin Diesel
Most people are used to seeing Vin Diesel beat up bad guys and flex his muscles. However, many fans were shocked when he appeared at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2003 wearing a skirt. Although it was definitely a different look for Diesel, he looked very comfortable and confident as he posed in front of the cameras.

Young Thug
Since coming on to the scene in 2014, Young Thug has raised a lot of eyebrows – mainly because people have a hard time understanding what he's saying in his songs. However, Young Thug has also gotten a whole lot of attention for his very feminine outfit choices. Last year, fans were a little shocked when he uploaded a picture to his Instagram account which showed a man wearing a belly shirt and a skirt. Although it was later revealed that the man in the picture was not in fact Young Thug, he has proudly admitted to wearing a leopard print dress, which he has since stated was from the kids' department.

Dennis Rodman
Not only has Dennis Rodman been "caught" wearing women's clothing, but it's kind of become part of his legacy. Most famously, Rodman wore a wedding dress in 1996 while promoting his autobiography "Bad As I wanna Be." Although the incident was nearly 20 years ago, sports fans have not yet forgetting the site of the professional basketball playing 'bride.'

It's no secret that Kanye West loves clothing, and he certainly doesn't care what anyone thinks of him or what he wears. Over the last several years, Kanye has worn women's clothing during performances and red carpet appearances, and he's looked pretty trendy while doing in. In fact, many believe that Kanye is responsible for the increasing trend in famous men wearing women's clothing.

16 year-old Jaden Smith has turned a lot of heads lately after showing up to Coachella wearing a dress. Since then, he has also been seen wearing dresses in his every day life. Although many people have been very judgmental of his decision, Smith has had no problem addressing the haters. Smith stated: "Went to TopShop to Buy Some Girl Clothes, I Mean 'Clothes."
